Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami was arrested by the Raigad Police in relation to the abetment of a suicide case of 2018. The court had sent him into judicial custody for 14 days. However, he has shifted him to the Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai.

Arnab Goswami was shifted through a police van and in a dramatic visual, was seen speaking to his reporters of Republic TV where he revealed that his life was under threat with the Mumbai Police as he was being shifted without the knowledge of his lawyers.

The place where Arnab was shifted, Taloja Jail, is apparently a hub for the underworld and terror accused. Located 50 kilometers away from Mumbai, Taloja jail has seen several dreaded criminals.

Some of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists are housed there and due to quarantine facilities, the Mumbai police have shifted many criminals to Taloja jail that also happens to be the biggest jail in Maharashtra.

Reportedly, the jail has been a house for many criminal mastermind including Abu Salem. In 2012, he was attacked inside the jail by Devendra Jagtap, an accused in the Shahid Azmi murder case.

Over the past few months, Republic TV anchor Arnab Goswami has been involved in a tussle with the Maharashtra government and the Mumbai Police in many cases like the Palghar lynching, Sushant Singh Rajput case, and the demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s house.

On November 4th, Arnab Goswami was arrested from his residence by the Mumbai Police for a suicide abetment case of 2018 that was reopened recently.

During Salem's stay in jail, he sustained a bullet injury on his arm when an inmate fired at him and he was later taken to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital in Vashi.

This was the second attack on Salem, inside a jail after he was deported from Portugal in 2005. He was previously attacked inside Mumbai's Arthur Road jail in 2010, following which he was moved to the Taloja Central Jail over security concerns.
