Eknath Shinde vs Uddhav Thackeray: Where exactly did Mahavikas Aghadi go wrong? Both held responsible for collapse of the government

The Shinde-Fadnavis government came into power after Uddhav Thackeray stepped down from the post of Chief Minister last June. The opposition constantly accused the government of being illegal. Along with this, a complaint was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the disqualification of 16 MLAs in the government.

The Supreme Court today delivered its verdict regarding the disqualification of MLAs that has been going on for the past several months. In this verdict, the case of disqualification was again sent to the Speaker saying that the Assembly Speaker has the right to disqualify the MLAs.

But the Supreme Court has pulled the strings on the role of the Governor and the President on the events that took place in the state during the power struggle. It was a mistake by the governor to call for a majority test in an intra-party dispute. A no-confidence motion could have been brought against the government but nothing happened.

The decision of the Supreme Court did not pose any threat to the Shinde-Fadnavis government in the state. Because Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the post of Chief Minister before facing the majority test, the Supreme Court said that the situation cannot be reversed.

It was already being discussed that Uddhav Thackeray's resignation was a mistake for Maviya. It was clarified by the Supreme Court. But when did the Maha Vikas Aghadi government begin to fall? This is evident from watching the events.

Nana Patole resigned from the post of Assembly Speaker for the post of State President of Congress. Maviya was in a quandary as the post of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly became vacant, Narahari Jirwal being the Vice-President, had the charge of Speaker, but Maviya was in no rush to fill the post.

The leaders of Maviya were afraid that there could be a fiasco in the election of the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha. Therefore, the Maviya government preferred to keep the post of president vacant. It was sealed due to the division of votes in the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections.

40 MLAs including Shinde took a different stand when the Legislative Assembly did not have the post of President. 16 of these MLAs were disqualified by the then President Narahari Jirwal, after which the matter directly reached the Supreme Court.

In the meantime, the governor instructed the Mavia government to conduct a majority test. But Thackeray resigned from the post of Chief Minister before the majority test, due to which the government collapsed, after which the Shinde-Fadnavis government came to the state, they immediately replaced Rahul as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

Now Rahul Narvekar got the right of disqualification as the president. Nana Patole's resignation from the post of Legislative Assembly Speaker and Uddhav Thackeray's resignation from the Chief Minister's post is a mistake of the Mahavikas Aghadi, in which the Thackeray group is blaming Nana Patole and the Nationalist Uddhav Thackeray.
