Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari's work has always been appreciated. Gadkari has created a distinct image of himself in the country's road works.

Whether it is building flyovers in cities or national and state highways, four lane or eight-lane roads, Gadkari's name will always popup.

Gadkari's work is remembered even while traveling on the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway, so the late leader Balasaheb Thackeray used to call Gadkari a road worker.

Now, once again, under Gadkari's leadership, road construction on the Solapur-Bijapur highway has set a record. Construction of 25.54 km road (one paved road) on Solapur-Bijapur road was completed in 18 hours. The Union Minister claimed that this would be recorded in the Limca Book of Records

The National Highways Authority recently completed a four-laning of the Solapur-Bijapur state highway, completing a 25.54 km single lane road in just 18 hours.

About 500 employees of the contractor company have worked hard for this. "Along with these employees, I congratulate the National Highways Authority project manager, officers, all the representatives of the contractor company and the project officers," Gadkari said.

At present, work on 110 km of Solapur-Bijapur State Highway is in progress. The work will be completed by October 2021, Gadkari said on his Twitter account.

The Solapur-Bijapur highway was formerly known as the National Highway connecting Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Bypass four lane roads will be constructed between Solapur and Bijapur . The route will also have six flyovers.
