The operations of Mumbai local train services were shut for normal passengers for almost ten months since the beginning of the lockdown.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has instructed to start suburban services for all from February 1. A meeting was recently held to start local services for all in Mumbai within a specific time limit.

Mumbai's lifeline local service is starting from February 1 for all. The announcement was made by the state government. But Mumbaikars have been given some rules for local travel.

If the public tries to travel at a time other than the time sanctioned by the state government and the railways, they will be prosecuted under the Disaster Management Act, IPC 188 and the Railways Act, said Mumbai Railway Police Commissioner Ravindra Sengaonkar.

A total of 2,650 additional security guards have been provided to the railway police to prevent possible congestion after the Lok Sabha was granted to all from February 1. This includes Maharashtra Security Guards and Home Guards. In addition, the Railway Security Force will carry out the planning work.

The government has deployed 2,000 home guards and 650 security personnel to provide security at railway stations that are sensitive to congestion. Apart from this, Railway Security Force and Railway Police will work together to prevent congestion, said Commissioner Sengaonkar.
