ACP Jyotsna Rasam will be the investigating officer in the Sakinaka rape case.

While the case was reported on Thursday, the control room had received a call from the watchman of godown at Khairani road at around 3.20 AM.

After a 33 hour long battle, the victim passed away at Rajawadi hospital early on Saturday morning.

Rasam joined the police force 27 years ago as a sub-inspector. Today he is working in the state intelligence department as an assistant commissioner. In his journey of so many years, he has succeeded in solving many crimes.

A 30-year-old woman was raped on Khairani Road. After the rape, the accused had badly damaged the sensitive organs of the woman.

The kind of brutal behavior done by the accused to the victim, once again brought back heart-wrenching memories of Delhi's Nirbhaya rape and murder case.

Speaking to reporters in a press conference, the Mumbai Police Commissioner said, "Initially, from the facts that were coming out in this case, it seemed that there may be more than one accused involved in the perpetrators of the incident. . At present, one of the accused who came out during the investigation so far, has been arrested and presented in the court. This matter is serious. There are many other possibilities coming out in this. That is why the need was felt to constitute a Special Task Force to investigate the matter.
