Many old paintings of Shivaji Maharaj (Shivaji Maharaj Original Pic) are found in museums all over the world, some of which are claimed to have been taken while Maharaj was alive. However, most of the paintings were taken after the death of Maharaj.

This painting, probably taken in the 18th century, is in the museum of the Baroda Sansthan.

Very few old photographs of Shivaji Maharaj are available. This photograph is housed in a museum in Moscow

This picture is published in Robert Arm's book Historical Fragments of 1872.

This was painted in 1750 by Nihal Chandra, a painter of Maharaj Sawant Singh of Kishangarh. It shows the king holding a sword in his right hand and a belt in his left hand. This painting is in the Bonhams Museum in London.

The painting was published in 1762 in the Francois Valentine's Museum of Dutch Officials, bears the inscription "Den Heer Seva Gi".
