Uganda, Kenya, Cape Town are in the lead. In 2006, a tour operator company started Slum Tourism under the name Slum Tourism to see real-life living conditions. During the British period, officers especially their wives used to come to the slums to see the lives of the poor.

Rich people come, see the plight of the poor. Take pictures and leave. Tour operators make a lot of money from this. But it does not benefit the slum dwellers. Even slum dwellers look at rich people and do unwanted jobs to earn quick money.
