Air India flight lands 1 hour later after Taliban take over Afghanistan

An Air India flight sent to rescue passengers stranded in Afghanistan arrived safely at Delhi Airport on Sunday night. The Taliban have once again taken control of most parts of Afghanistan.

India had begun efforts to bring back Indian citizens safely to Kabul when the Taliban militant group took control. The last Air India flight AI243 took off between 3 pm on Sunday to bring back the 124 stranded Indians. Pakistan's air route was used for this.

The Air India plane landed at Kabul International Airport but was not allowed to land. At one point, doubts arose as to whether an Air India flight could now land at Kabul airport. So the plane had to fly about 12 times in the sky. In the meantime, the plane was in danger of running out of fuel.

In that case, if the plane had landed at Kabul airport and the Taliban had taken control of the airport, there would have been a greater risk of hijacking an Indian plane. However, after making 12 rounds in the air and realizing that everything was safe, the Air India plane was finally allowed to land.

This was the last Air India flight to help Indians. With the help of the Taliban in Afghanistan, Lashkar-e-Toiba and other terrorist organizations active in India could target the Indian embassy in Kandahar, the intelligence agency said.

India has already flown its embassy officials to India on a special flight. Commercial flights were already suspended following widespread violence in many parts of Afghanistan. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs had advised Indian nationals living in India to fly to India before the closure of commercial flights in the country.

Meanwhile, the Indian government began preparations to rescue Indians stranded in Afghanistan. But the campaign has suffered a setback. Afghanistan's airspace is closed and planes cannot land there. As a result, the flight to Kabul was canceled, Air India said.

The Air India flight was scheduled to depart for Kabul at 12.30 pm instead of 8.30 pm. However, now that the airspace is closed, the aircraft will not be able to fly, Air India said. This will delay the airlift of Indian nationals.

The situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating day by day. The Taliban has taken control of Afghanistan. The dominance of the Taliban has raised the question of the security of Indians in Afghanistan. The Taliban has assured that no harm will be done to Indian citizens.

But India has begun to take steps to protect its citizens. Air India has two aircraft on standby. The aircraft will take off from Delhi and land in Kabul as soon as it receives orders from the Center. Kabul airport is currently under US control.

The Modi government has instructed Air India to keep two aircraft ready for the safety of Indians stranded in Afghanistan. A list of crew members has been drawn up to be ready to take off for Kabul.
