The Mi17 V helicopter that crashed yesterday while carrying Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat from Coonoor to Wellington has been found. The crash killed several military officers and crew members, including General Rawat and his wife.

If something goes wrong with an airplane or a helicopter, all the information is recorded in the black box. The black box contains a device that records all the flight and landing information of the aircraft/helicopter.

The plane crashes used to happen very often at that time, and finding the cause of the accident was difficult, that's why the black box was invented.

The Black Box was invented by aviator researcher David Warren in 1954. Initially, the box was called a red egg because of its red color. But later this box was called 'Black Box' because the inside it was dark in color.

This black box is safe as it is made of titanium. Even if the plane catches fire, nothing can happen to this black box. Because this box has the capacity to withstand 10000 degrees centigrade temperature for 1 hour.

In case of an accident, there is a constant sound coming from the black box, which can be detected by the search teams from a distance and thus reach the place of the accident. Sound and waves continue to emanate from this box, even after falling 20,000 feet into the ocean, for 30 consecutive days.

Not just a black box but one more thing on the plane that helps in extracting data is the 'Cockpit Voice Recorder' (CVR). It's actually part of the black box. It records the sound of the last two hours of the flight
