PM Narendra Modi address the nation today in which he made a major declaration on Famers laws. Modi announced the repeal of three agricultural laws where thousands of farmers have been protesting for the last year. Finally, the farmers' movement has succeeded.

This is the second time the Modi government has bowed to the demands of the farmers and the agitation. Earlier in 2015, the Modi government had withdrawn from the farmers. The government brought 4 ordinances through the President for land acquisition.

The farmers' agitation has been going on since last November to repeal three agricultural laws. Corona crisis, rains, cold winds, farmers persisted in the movement. Finally, after a year, the government decided to repeal all three laws.

Today is Guru Nanak's birthday. Farmers should leave the agitation and return home. Let's go to the field. Modi appealed for a fresh start. Modi decided to repeal three laws on the day of Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Punjab Assembly elections are imminent. Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has left the Congress and formed a new party. Singh was ready to join hands with the BJP. But he had made it a condition to repeal the agricultural laws.

It is being said that BJP has made a political comeback by repealing agricultural laws. In Punjab, BJP contested elections along with Shiromani Akali Dal. So far no more than 20 BJP candidates have won in any of the Assembly elections.

It is almost certain that the BJP will contest the Assembly elections in alliance with Amarinder Singh's party. Since Singh came from the Congress, the Congress was hit hard in the areas where he dominated. This year, the state will get the most seats, say opinion polls.

This decision can be important for the growth of the BJP in the state. Therefore, big developments can be seen in the politics of Punjab.

Farmers from western Uttar Pradesh also joined the agitation in large numbers. There are 71 assembly constituencies in this area. In 51 of these constituencies, the BJP had won the last election. The BJP was likely to be hit in this area due to agricultural laws.

According to various opinion polls, BJP will retain power in Uttar Pradesh. However, they may lose 60 to 80 seats. This blow could hit the BJP in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. That is why the BJP can get the political benefit of repealing all the three laws in Uttar Pradesh as well.
