Father sold his house for his son education, 23 year old Pradeep Singh became IAS Officer

Pradeep's father Manoj Singh sold his house and took up a job at the petrol pump in Indore to bear the expenses of his son.

After completing his BCom from IIPS Indore, Pradeep went to Delhi for UPSC preparations.

"I work at a petrol pump in Indore. I always wanted to educate my children so that they can do well in life. Pradeep told me he wanted to take the UPSC exam, but I was short of money, so I sold my house. It has been a tough journey," Manoj Singh told ANI.

His idea for Pradeep was clear that he wanted him to do something for the society and the people residing in every section of the society.

A total of 759 candidates cleared the exam. According to a statement released by UPSC, "a total of 759 candidates (577 men and 182 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various services like IAS, IPS, IFS etc."

Pradip was under a lot of stress as his father had to sell the house for his education. Therefore, Pradeep set a goal to pass the UPSC exam in any situation. Pradeep decided to pass UPSC and become an officer.

His entire family wanted Pradeep to be an officer. Pradeep Singh appeared for the first time in 2018 UPSC exam. In the first attempt, Pradeep jumped to 93rd position in the All India rankings. But he was not selected for IAS.

After passing the exam, Pradeep was appointed to the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). In 2018, Pradip Singh took the UPSC exam but missed out on the opportunity to become an IAS by just one rank. So Pradeep had the option of becoming an IPS.

But Pradeep joined the Foreign Service. Then he took a vacation and started preparing again. Pradip Singh was under a lot of mental pressure after losing a chance to IAS by one rank. But he did not give up and did not accept defeat.

After a year of preparation, Pradeep took the UPSC exam again and jumped from 93rd to 26th position in the All India rankings. After that, Pradeep Singh's dream of becoming an IAS officer came true. Pradeep was appointed as an IAS officer.
