Southern superstar Rajinikanth was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award on Monday for his contribution to the film. The award was presented by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
Kangana Ranaut was honored as the Best Actress for her roles in 'Manikarnika' and 'Panga'. The Best Actor award went to Manoj Bajpayee for his role in Bhosale and Dhanush for his role in Asuran.
President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were absent from the awards ceremony in the capital Delhi. So, Rajinikanth met the two chiefs two days later.
Rajinikanth shared photos of the meeting on Twitter. He also said that he was happy to receive greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ramnath Kovind.
Rajinikanth was accompanied by his wife Lata Rajinikanth. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has dedicated the Dadasaheb Phalke Award to many, including his mentor, the late filmmaker Balachander.
There were a lot of talks that Rajinikanth would enter politics. But Rajinikanth said that he would not enter politics.
