In the true sense of the word, the Deccan Queen is a monarchy. A few years ago, this train was given the status of Superfast Express. On the Mumbai-Pune journey, many passengers stand in line to get a seat in a dining car. Due to the attractive internal structure.

The Deccan Queen was inaugurated on June 1, 1930. It was mainly used by horse racing enthusiasts for travel between Mumbai and Pune. Initially running only on Saturdays and Sundays, the train received huge response daily.

This train does not stop anywhere except Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai division. About 900 long distance trains to the corners of the country stop at Kalyan station. The Deccan Queen, however, is an exception. (Deccan Queen not halt at Kalyan Junction)

In fact, Kalyan is a very important station for Mumbaikars. It is also said that Kalyan station connects North and South India. Despite this, there is a special reason for not stopping at the Deccan Queen Welfare Station, which connects the important cities of Mumbai and Pune.

The train was running through the boundaries of Kalyan municipality after the Deccan Queen started its service. In this regard, the railways had to pay some taxes to the Kalyan Municipality. But for many years this tax has not been paid to the municipality. Outraged over tax evasion, the Kalyan municipality took the railways to court.

The then court ruled in favor of the Kalyan Municipality. After this, the Kalyan Municipality confiscated the engine of Deccan Queen. After this incident, the railway authorities went the next day and paid the municipal tax and released the engine of the confiscated Deccan Queen.

The railways could not bear this humiliation and disgrace. The action of the municipality has never been forgotten by the railways. That is why the Railways decided never to stop the Deccan Queen at Kalyan station. In this case, Dr. Kalyan Municipality's side. Presented by Babasaheb Ambedkar,

At present, the Deccan Queen Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj stops at Karjat directly after leaving the terminus. After this, stops have been given to Deccan Queen at Lonavla, Shivajinagar and Pune stations.

Due to the popularity among the passengers and the huge demand, the number of stops for Deccan Queen has been increased. However, he has not received a positive response from the railways.

Many reasons are being given by the railways beyond just policy. The Deccan has been rated as a superfast train. If the stoppage of this train is increased then the time of the train will be different and hence the quality of the train will not be superfast.

The Deccan Queen is said to be not being given new stops, citing similar reasons from the railways. Although many trains connecting Mumbai-Pune run daily, the Deccan Queen is a special place for those traveling between Mumbai and Pune.

Consideration is being given to air-conditioning the Deccan Queen's dining car in the coming period. Central Railway is considering adding LHB coaches to the Deccan Queen, and if the proposal materializes, the Deccan Queen's dining could be air-conditioned.
