The Reserve Bank of India suddenly announced the decision to withdraw Rs 2000 notes from circulation on Friday. Citizens have been given a deadline till September 30 to exchange these notes or deposit them in the bank.

On November 8, 2016, the central government demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes overnight. At that time too, time was given to change the notes. This time, in the case of 2000 note, this note has been kept in circulation till September 30 without stopping the notes directly.

Even though the 2000 note has been withdrawn from circulation, its legal validity will remain. But what should those who don't have a bank account do? Where to change the note? What if it can't be changed by September 30? There are many such questions in people's minds.

RBI has decided to withdraw Rs 2000 notes from circulation under the Clean Note Policy. RBI has given people till September 30 to exchange the notes. From May 23 to September 30, 2023, people will be able to go to the bank and exchange Rs 2000 notes.

Some people don't have bank account. What should such people do? This question will be before them. RBI has said that Rs 2000 notes will remain in circulation till September 30. Those who currently have Rs 2000 notes can spend them.

Those who do not have their own bank account can exchange notes by going to any branch in the country. Even those who do not have an account can exchange 10 notes of 2000 rupees at a time i.e. notes worth 20 thousand rupees. Meanwhile, what happens after the deadline of September 30 expires?

You will not have to pay any fee to exchange 2000 notes. Banks will provide this facility free of cost to the customers. This service will be completely free from banks. You will not be charged anything.

Banks have been directed to arrange exchange of notes for senior citizens and disabled persons. RBI has given instructions to the bank officials to make arrangements for this. For this facility can be provided by the bank. The picture in this regard is clear at present.

If the bank refuses to accept the note, you can file a complaint. If the bank refuses to accept the 2000 note, the person can first complain to the bank management. In case of no response from the bank within 30 days, RBI through RBI at cms.rbi.org.in
