Kobe Freeman, 20, from Utah, was stung by the insect while eating a burger that he had made himself.
The student at Weber State University, Utah, could barely fit his tongue back in his mouth because it had swollen so much.
He uploaded a video to social media site TikTok, where it has went viral with over 11 thousand comments from users offering hilarious solutions to his problem.
In the video, which has been viewed 5.3 million times, he said: 'I'm wondering if anyone has ever had this happen before?' The student explains what happened to his mouth with great difficulty, as his speech is distorted due to how large his tongue has gotten.
He added: 'I cooked a hamburger, and I was eating it, and I was almost finished my first one when I felt this pain on my tongue. 'So, I went to the bathroom, and I opened my mouth and there's a bee on it. It stung my tongue and I don't know how to get the swelling down.'
He turns his mouth towards the camera to show the red mark where the sting pierced his tongue. Kobe added: 'Somebody please help me, I don't know what to do.' Singer Jason Derulo commented on the viral video, saying: 'Don't call 911 go to TikTok 4 help.'
