People queued up at Baba Ka Dhabha in Malviya Nagar in Delhi on Thursday after video of the octogenarian owner couple went viral on social media.

“There was no sale during COVID19 lockdown but now it feels like whole India is with us,” says owner Kanta Prasad, who's running the stall since 1990.

80-year-old Kanta Prasad's story of their struggle in the coronavirus crisis went viral, moving thousands of people, including celebrities, cricketers and even companies.

It all started with an Instagram post and a late night tweet.

Vasundhara Tankha Sharma posted a video by a food blogger featuring the couple and said it "completely broke my heart". She urged the people of Delhi to "please, please go eat at Baba ka Dhaba in Malviya Nagar".

When asked how much the aged couple earn in a day, Prasad says, “Earning? This is how much we’ve earned.”

He then produced a thin bundle of Rs 10 notes from a box and said that’s all they’ve earned. The couple said they don’t earn more than Rs 80 a day, despite starting their day early at 6.30 am.

“Ever since the lockdown, life has been very difficult”, Prasad said.

The video also showed how small the stall is and as Prasad is seen wiping his tears as the video ends. The man recording the video is heard promising to help them.

The campaign also caused #BabaKaDhaba and #Malviya Nagar to trend on Twitter and multiple people posted images and videos of their visits to the eatery after seeing the video.

“There was no sale during the lockdown but now it feels like whole India is with us,” said Prasad on Thursday.

It feels like whole India is with us. Everyone is helping us", says Kanta Prasad, owner of #BabaKaDhabha.
