Xiaomi has been the biggest smartphone company in India for the 15th consecutive quarter. The company’s India head and global vice president Manu Kumar Jain said that Xiaomi has made the highest number of smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2021.

Citing a report by IDC, he confirmed that the smartphone company has achieved a market share of 27.2 per cent in smartphones in India.

Apart from this, Xiaomi has sold more than three million Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 ultra. These phones were launched in December last year and then were launched globally in February this year.

According to the report prepared by IDC, Xiaomi made 10.4 million shipments to India in the first quarter of 2021. This is followed by Samsung with a shipment of 7.3 million units, with a market share of 19 per cent.

Vivo and Oppo are at number three and fourth with 17.3 per cent and 12.2 per cent market share respectively. Reality sold 4.1 million phones and had a market share of 10.7 percent.

The IDC report further states that while the Mi 10i was the largest 5G model in the first quarter of this year. At the same time, Redmi 9 series models are 10 percent of the total demand of Xiaomi in India.

On the other hand, Xiaomi announced on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo that the Mi 11 series models have sold more than three million units globally.

Sales figures for the Mi 11 models have been taken between January and April 2021, including third-party retailer Cell Records and other external sources.

The Mi 11 series was traded for only three months in 2021, in February it was announced to markets across the world.

While the Mi 11 launched in China in December last year, the global announcement of the phone took place in February 2021.
