Watch Video! Farmer comes up with a DIY hack to scare locusts away

On the wake of the rising threat of locust attack on crops a farmer in India has come up with a effective hack to safeguard his farm from a likely insect attack. In the video which has gone viral the owner of the farm has mounted a hand-made aeroplane on a long pole in the middle of a field. The ‘aeroplane’ itself is a creative hack as it is made out of moving fan blades, a plastic bottle, a soda can and a cardboard tail. In the short 15-second clip, the ‘aeroplane’ can be seen rotating atop the pole and making a loud noise that would help keep the locusts away.

Rahul Srivastav, a police officer from Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi district, shared the video on Twitter which has now gone viral. The small clipping has garnered hundreds of likes and several comments with netizens terming it is a 'wonderful hack.' Srivastav had earlier shared a video a 'DJ vehicle' playing loud music in a field in Uttar Pradesh to scare locusts away.  The Union Environment ministry warned in a statement that locust swarms have entered Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. A number of states have been placed on high alert with state-level teams being formed and control rooms being setup to tack the movement of locusts.
