Reliance Jio is reportedly all set to launch a low-cost laptop. According to a report in XDA-developers, the company is working on an affordable laptop, likely to be called JioBook. Though the pricing and launch details of the laptop are not available yet, Jio seems to be targeting it at users looking for budget laptops. The pandemic has increased the demand for laptops exponentially. Here's a look at likely key features of Reliance JioBook. The laptop is likely to run on Google’s Android operating system. As per the report, it is likely to be powered by forked version of Android that Jio may call as “JioOS”.

As per the report, Jio’s prototype laptop is currently using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 (sm6125), an 11nm processor announced in early 2019. The Qualcomm 665 processor features a built-in 4G LTE modem — the Snapdragon X12. This, JioBook, is likely to provide cellular connectivity to Reliance Jio’s 4G network.Jio is said to be partnering China-based Bluebank Communication Technology to develop the product. Bluebank is an engineering company that creates mobile devices and develops software for third-parties. Bluebank reportedly creates products that run KaiOS, a mobile operating system for feature phones. It has pictures of JioPhone in the list of devices developed. The report claims that while digging into the laptop’s firmware, it discovered evidence of 1366×768 resolution for the PC's display. The low-cost laptop is likely to come with apps such as JioStore, JioMeet and JioPages. Report also claims that it may have apps like Microsoft Teams, Office and Microsoft Edge. Bluebank has reportedly tested several iterations of the JioBook during development, including a model with 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM paired with 32GB of eMMC storage and later a model with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.
