IndiGo airlines has announced paycuts for the top bosses starting May onwards. IndiGo CEO Rononjoy Dutta in a mail to employees, said, "No option but to implement pay-cuts from the month of May. Have to implement limited, graded leave without pay program for May, June & July." He added, "Leave without pay will range from 1.5-5 days depending on the employee group. Level A employees, who form a majority of our workforce will not be impacted."

"I am personally taking a 25 per cent pay cut, SVPs (senior vice presidents) and above are taking 20 per cent, VPs (vice presidents) and cockpit crew are taking a 15 per cent pay cut, AVPs (assistant vice presidents), Bands D along with cabin crew will take 10 per cent and Band Cs five per cent," Dutta had said on March 19. Earlier in April, the company had rolled back its salary cut announcements that were made in March after the government appealed companies not to cut salaries during lockdown. Dutta said it was likely that the airline will resume operations with a much lower capacity initially and gradually build up capacity in succeeding months. GoAir and Spicejet have also cut the employee salaries across roles for the month of March.
