The iconic Eden Gardens is ready to open its indoor facility and the players dormitory to the West Bengal government to create a temporary medical facility to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly revealed. Earlier, an indoor stadium in Howrah was converted into a 150-bed quarantine center to facilitate the rising number of patients, under the initiative of the District Administration and Howrah Municipality.

Ganguly welcomed the government’s decision of complete lockdown and hoped that it will help in curb  the spread COVID-19 cases.“I think this is the best option at the current moment. Certain things are beyond anybody’s control. Whatever directives that the government and ministry of health gives us, we have to follow. That’s the case all over the world,” the 47-year-old was quoted saying by PTI.
