USA Cricket Board is all set to give their players a huge pay cuts for their contracted players on the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pamdemic.  The board is planning to slash the player salaries by at least 50% until the end of their contract period in July. The players were paid an average salary of around $70,000 with the highest salary soaring around $90,000. The pandemic saw the postponement of the tri-nation series between hosts USA, UAE and Scotland scheduled to take place in the first week of April.  On the other hand there seems to be huge uncertainity on the Netherlands tour in June.

The opening rounds of many cricket leagues scattered all over the US have been called off until further notice. This further makes life difficult for the cash-stripped players as a majority of them are paid between $200-$400 to turn up for a weekend game. These are tough times for the sport industry in general in the US with Rugby USA filing for bankruptcy last week and NBA and MLB suspending their seasons indefinitely, as both the bodies are set to accure losses in billions.
