Princess Hend Al Qassimi, a member of the royal family of United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned a Twitter user for targetting the Muslim community amidst the coronavirus crisis. A user Saurabh Upadhyay posted tweets attacking Muslims over the Tablighi Jamaat congregation blaming them for the surge of coronavirus cases in the country. Princess Qassimi shared the screenshots of his tweets and warned that those engaging in racism and Islamophobia will have to pay penalty and will be made to leave UAE.

The user after the incident has apparently deleted his Twitter account. Responding to his earlier posts, the princess said her family was friends with Indians and such behaviour is unacceptable. “All employees are paid to work, no one comes for free. You make your bread and butter from this land which you scorn and your ridicule will not go unnoticed,” she wrote. Princess Qassimi’s response has been applauded by several users on Twitter. Some have even highlighted previous instances of ‘Islamophobia’ displayed made by Upadhyay on the micro-blogging site.
