Anil Deshmukh: Maharashtra receives 96,697 calls on Covid-19 helpline

Maharashtra Home Minister on Thursday released data concerning calls police received on their Covid-19 helpline. The police received more than 96,697 calls inquiring about obtaining movement passes in the lockdown, the non-availability of food and money, medical emergencies, travel arrangements for migrants, and several distress calls.

There's been a steady rise in the number of COVID-19 calls on the police helpline 100. As many as 96,697 such calls were received. 254 instances of assaults on policemen have left 86 injured and seen 833 arrests. There have been 40 attacks on health professionals too, informed Maharashtra HM Anil Deshmukh.

The helpline was launched to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
