COVID-19 patient jumps from quarantine center in Kalyan, dies

In a shocking incident, a COVID-19 positive patient jumped from the fifth floor of a quarantine center in Kalyan.

The exact reason why the person took this extreme step is yet to be find, said a police official. The family members of the deceased are also admitted in the same centre and are COVID-19 positive. 

The 43-year-old man who runs a business, a resident of Dombivali, around 4 pm on Sunday, who was admitted in the quarantine centre at Tata Amantra by Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC), jumped from the fifth floor.

Ramesh Katkar, senior police inspector of Kon police station said,"we have been unable to interrogate more people as all of them his close relative's are positive". 

The Kon police said they will speak with his close relatives via phone as all of them are now lodged in quarantine center. The Tata's project Amantra is used by KDMC as quarantine center.
