COVID-19: Social distancing goes for a toss in Kalyan after 700 people attend a wedding

Even though the number of coronavirus cases in Maharahtra has gone up to 13,000, it is shocking that big weddings are being held in places like Kalyan town in thane district. Police took action at a similar wedding ceremony that was held in Kalyan East on Wednesday night.

Police had received information that a large number of people had come to a wedding ceremony near the gas company, 60 feet road, east of Kalyan. According to the 5 / D ward area officer Vasant Bhongade's team, more than 700 people were present at the wedding.

It is a violation of the rules of social distancing when a wedding ceremony is not allowed with so many people. Due to this, the police ha registered a case against the organizer of the wedding ceremony Rajesh Yashwant Mhatre, Chinchpada, Kalyan East, Mahesh Krishna Raut, Kasarawadwali, Dist. Thane under sections 188, 269, 270, Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, as well as Rule 11 of the Covid-19 Measures.

Although the number of corona patients is increasing in Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation area, in such a situation, the citizens have been urged to wash their hands frequently, use masks in public places without fail, and adopt the three principles of social distancing.
