Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut interviewed Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for the Sena party's mouthpiece 'Saamana'. Taking to Twitter, Raut, who is the executive editor of the daily, said that he conducted a "unlock interview" with Thackeray.

CM Thackeray said he is aware of the problems arising because of the coronavirus lockdown, but added that he cannot let his people suffer due to the deadly virus.

“I am not Donald Trump. I can't see my people suffering,” Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray is heard saying in a teaser of his interview with MP and Shiv Sena Sanjay Raut. The interview of Uddhav Thackeray will be released in two parts on the weekend on July 25 and 26.

In this interview, Raut asked Thackeray many questions about the Covid-19 situation in the state and the six-month tenure of the Thackeray government. A glimpse of this can be seen in this promo. In this promo, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has clarified his position on the situation of corona and lockdown in the state.

Uddhav Thackeray’s comment comes in response Sanjay Raut asks him when ‘vada pav’ will be again available on the streets of Mumbai. As Sanjay Raut says the people of Maharashtra are now fed up of lockdown, Uddhav Thackeray says they have started easing restrictions.

The Maharashtra CM, however, adds that the lockdown is still in place.

Uddhav Thackeray goes on to say that he is not Donald Trump, who has been crticised for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic in the US.
