Jitendra Awhad demands mega economic package for Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra on Tuesday announced Rs 20 lakh crore special economic package for the country to be 'self-reliant' and deal with COVID-19.

"I announce a special economic package today. This will play an important role in the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.' The announcements made by the government over COVID, decisions of RBI and today's package totals to Rs 20 lakh crore. This is 10 per cent of India's GDP," said Prime Minister Modi in his address to the nation.

Minister and NCP leader Jitendra Awhad has responded over PM's special package saying Mumbai needs a separate and larger package.

Jitendra Awhad tweeted that Mumbai has played a big role in India's development. Mumbai used to collect the most tax money in the country but now Mumbai needs to be rebuilt. Mumbai needs a separate and larger package for industries, health and labor. 

Jitendra Awhad has expressed his views on twitter by writing, "For last 8 decades Mumbai has been the backbone of countries economy now it asks for its share a mega economic package is the need of the hour."
