A 52-year-old Government Railway Police constable on Tuesday became the first police personnel to test positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra.

"Around 32 constables had come in touch with him. Hence, all of them will be tested and sent in quarantine," said police. "One of our men, a fifty-two-year-old, has tested positive for COVID-19," said GRP commissioner Ravindra Sengaonkar.

"He was initially admitted in Kasturba hospital. We are now shifting him to Seven Hills hospital. His wife and two children, who stay in Kalyan West, Beturkarpada area, are also admitted and will be soon tested for COVID-19," said Sengaonkar.
