India's death toll from the epidemic rose to eight as a 68-year-old Philippines man who had recovered died in Mumbai. The nation-wide number of confirmed cases also went up to 415 with more cases being reported from Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra government has urged citizens not to step out of their home unless it is an emergency.

Nevertheless, the citizens are not taking the orders issued by the authorities seriously and are stepping out of their houses.

Therefore Kalamboli police has decided to block the Sion–Panvel Expressway that connects to Pune.

On Sunday in view of Janta Curfew people didn't step out as ordered by PM Modi. However on Monday, people started stepping out on the roads.

Due to which Senior Police Inspector Satish Gaikwad of Kalamboli Police Station and Police Inspector Ankush Khedkar of Traffic Branch closed the Sion–Panvel Expressway that connects to Pune at 11:30 am. People were only allowed to go after showing their identity cards and purpose of travelling. While others had to hit the U-Turn.
