Maharashtra Lockdown: Lockdown to be extended beyond May 15? Here' what Rajesh Tope said

In view of the worsening situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state, the Maharashtra government has extended the ongoing restrictions till May 15. But the restrictions will be lifted after May 15? State Health Minister Rajesh Tope has given important information in this regard.

There are still more than 50,000 patients being reported in the state on a daily basis. Therefore, the situation has still not come under control. Therefore, the period of restrictions imposed in the state may have to be extended for a few more days, said Rajesh Tope.

The state recorded 54,022 new cases in the last 24 hours, said the ministry. Over the last few days, the number of new corona outbreaks in the state has remained at over 50,000. Therefore, there is a strong possibility of an increase in lockdown.

"The number of patients in the state is increasing by over 50,000 every day. Out of 36 districts in the state, rates have come down in 12 districts. But the situation is not over. So if the restrictions are lifted, the situation could get out of hand once again. Corona patient statistics are still rising in some districts. The next picture will be clear by May 15 regarding the lockdown decision ", said Rajesh Tope.

Tope said the state government was also preparing for the third wave. The government has been working tirelessly to increase the number of beds, oxygen, Remdesivir and other medical facilities. At the same time, the government is making efforts to speed up vaccination, Tope said.
