Mumbai: Worli area completely sealed as more than 6 test positive

With more than 6 people from Worli Koliwada testing positive for the coronavirus, the municipal corporation completely  sealed, disinfected and fumigated in the early hours of Monday. 

Sachin Ahir, former Worli MLA and Shiv Sena leader, said, “There are eight confirmed cases now, but we cannot call this community spread. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is tracing the contacts of the first patient. The lockdown was enforced to stall further spread. We will ease restrictions from Tuesday so that people can go out to buy essentials.”

Two colonies in Worli area in central Mumbai were sealed, disinfected and fumigated in the early hours of Monday in view of novel coronavirus outbreak, local MLA and Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray tweeted.

"Late last night 2 am onwards, Koliwada and Janta Colony have been sealed off further. Disinfection and fumigation is on along with contact tracing," Thackeray tweeted.

"In order to contain further spread of COVID-19, Worli Koliwada has been completely sealed and lockdown for public movement, in coordination with Police Dept. Disinfection and fumigation process of the complete area has been initiated, as a precautionary measure," tweeted G North ward of BMC.
