Nagpur: Sex workers struggle to survive amid COVID-19 21 day lockdown

The novel coronavirus outbreak has taken a toll on the livelihood of the sex workers in Nagpur. Sex workers in Nagpur are facing difficulty in meeting day-to-day needs of themselves and their families amid the Coronavirus 21 day lockdown. One of the workers says,"We have nothing to eat. We are dependent on those who are providing food for needy people like us".

As the number of coronavirus cases are rising in the country, it has become a cause of concern for the authorities. Maharashtra being the worst hit state, the number of COVID-19 positive cases surged to 490, with 67 new cases being reported across Maharashtra on Friday, and the official death toll rose by six to touch 26 so far.
