Chhota Rajan tests COVID-19 positive

Underworld don Rajendra Nikalje alias Chhota Rajan, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, has tested COVID-19 positive. He has been admitted to All India Institute of Medical Services (AIIMS) Hospital in Delhi for treatment. His condition is said to be stable at present. Tihar Jail officials  informed a Sessions Court in Delhi on Monday.

Chhota Rajan ​​​​​​, 61, was arrested in 2015 in Bali, Indonesia under an extradition agreement. There are several cases against him in Mumbai which were handed over to the CBI. The cases are being heard in a special court. On Monday, Tihar's assistant jailor told the sessions court that Chhota Rajan could not be produced by video conference for the hearing of a case as the gangster has tested COVID-19 positive and admitted to the AIIMS.

Rajan is facing as many as 70 criminal cases pertaining to extortion and murder in Mumbai.
