COVID-19: Schools to function 3 days a week, classes to be held in open grounds - Reports

On the wake of the rising coronavirus cases in the country a major decision has been implemented for the re-opening of schools in the state. According to a report published in Dainik Bhaskar NCERT has submitted a tentative list of guidelines which will be implemented once schools re-open in the state.

According to the draft submitted by the NCERT, children of one class will not be called to school together once the school opens. An odd-formula will be implemented which will be on the basis of class roll numbers with classes operating in  two shifts. There will be an interval of 10–10 minutes each according to the classes in the time of the children reaching school.   It has also been recommended in the draft that in terms of social distancing it would be better to hold classes in the open field. According to reports, the following guidelines have been given for approval.

Schools to be opened in 6 stages

First Phase- Classes of 11th-12th will start.

Second phase (1 week later) - 9th-10th classes will start.

Third Phase (2 weeks later) - Classes will start from 6th to 8th.

Fourth stage (3 weeks later) - will start from 3rd to 5th.

Fifth stage (4 weeks later) - First-second classes will start.

Sixth stage (5 weeks later) - Nursery-KG classes can be started only with the consent of the parents.

These measures will be adopted in school

6 feet distance between students in class will be necessary. There will be 30 or 35 children in a room.

Classroom doors and windows will be open and AC will not be able to run. Children will be called on an odd-even basis, but home assignments have to be given daily.

Do not change the child seat, name will be written on the desk and students  to sit there everyday.

Every 15 days after classes start, you will have to talk to parents about the progress of the child.

It will be the management's job to ensure that the rooms are sanitized daily. There will be no event like Morning Assembly and Annual Function.

Students and staff will be screened before admission to the school. No food stalls will be set up outside the school.

Children will not be allowed to share copy, pen, pencil or food. Children have to bring their own water.

It will be necessary for every child to wear a mask. Parents of the child will be informed if the school does not take care of social distancing.

Take care of these things-

Parents who are employed in medical, safety or sanitation related work will have to inform the school in advance.

Only those parents who are not in a position to contact over the phone will be allowed to meet the teachers.

There will be no parent-teachers meeting. The guidelines regarding transport will be released soon.

As far as hostels are concerned, bets will have to be placed at a distance of six to six feet.
