COVID-19 Update: India's daily positive cases drops down to 41,506 in the last 24 hours

India's tally of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases has reached 30,837,222, and the death toll increased to 408,072. Country continues to be second-most-affected globally. With the addition of 429 new cases of coronavirus, the infection count in Maharashtra's Thane district has gone up to 5,37,358. Besides the new cases reported yesterday, the virus also claimed the lives of eight more people, pushing the death toll in the district to 10,836. Overall, across India,  41,506 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours as per the health ministry’s July 11 update. The daily count of cases has been staying above 40,000 for the last five days.

 

 

Meanwhile, more than 37.60 crore vaccinations  have been administered across India as of 9am today. On a positive note, 41,526 patients recovered during last 24 hours all over India with a recovery rate of 97.20%. Maharashtra reported the most 738 new deaths, as per the July 10 update, followed by Kerala (130), Tamil Nadu (69), Karnataka (68), and Odisha (61). These five states account for majority  of all the new deaths reported in the country. In terms of the active cases Maharashtra tops the list with 115494 positive cases, followed by Kerala at 113595 cases. Karnataka stands at 3,7929 cases with Tamil Nadu in the fourth position with 33224 cases. The weekly positivity rate in the country is below 5%. The active cases constitute 1.47% of total cases with India's active case load at 4,54,118.
