Fact Check: Railways cancel all trains till 31 March 2021?

The coronavirus infection level in the country is back to last year's December as it has soared to 1.96 from 1.55 per cent in a short interval. The cumulative tally of the cases has risen to 1,14,09,831 while the death toll has reached 1,58,856 in India. 

Amid the surge in the covid cases there are also some fake messages and images that went viral on social media and created panic among the citizen. A similar message is currently going viral on social media platform that says that Indian Railways has canceled all trains till 31st March. This message has created an atmosphere of fear and confusion among the people.

The message includes a screenshot of a news channel stating that all trains have been canceled till March 31.

Press Information Bureau (PIB) conducted a fact check on this screenshot of a news channel and found out that the news is FALSE. It is FALSE news.

PIB has rejected the report, saying it is false. The video of the news that the train will be closed on March 31 is not from this year but from last year. PIB has given very important information to the citizens by tweeting about this from its official Twitter account.
