Health Ministry: Total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across India is 147

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic was confirmed to have spread to India on 30 January 2020 from China. There have since been a total of 147 confirmed cases in the country, with many of them having travel history either with Italy or the Middle East. 

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare: Total number of confirmed COVID19 cases in India rises to 147 - comprising 122 Indian nationals and 25 foreign nationals (as on 18.03.2020 at 09:00 AM)

The Health Minsitry has imposed fresh travel restrictions, prohibiting entry of passengers from the EU countries and the UK from March 18.

With positive cases of COVID-19 showing an increase, the government has proposed a set of social distancing measures to be in force till March 31.
