Priyanka Gandhi isolates herself, after Robert Vadra tests positive for COVID-19

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has gone into self-isolation after coming in contact with her husband Robert Vadra who has tested positive for COVID-19, she informed on Friday. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra informed that she has gone into self-isolation for a few days and that she had to cancel her upcoming campaigns scheduled for Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Congress leader revealed that she was in self-isolation despite her COVID-19 test returning negative as a precautionary measure. Taking to Twitter, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra informed of her situation and wished Congress luck for the upcoming polls.

"Just to say that I have been exposed to the coronavirus although the report is negative, but doctors have advised me to self-isolate and unfortunately I have to cancel the program which was scheduled for me for Assam campaign today and for Tamil Nadu tomorrow and Kerala a day after tomorrow. I would like to apologise as I will not be able to be there," she said. In a Facebook post, Robert Vadra earlier today informed that he tested positive after he came in contact with someone who was Covid positive. "Hi friends, unfortunately, I came into contact with someone Covid positive and have tested positive for COVID although I am asymptomatic so far. As per the Covid guidelines, Priyanka and I are self-isolating although she has tested negative," he said. "Fortunately the kids have not been with us these days and everyone else at home has tested negative too. Hopefully, we will all be back to normal life soon," Vadra added.
