Relief for Engineering, and MBA students, as no fees to be charged during COVID-19 lockdown

In what can be termed as a big relief for millions of students studying in professional courses like Engineering, MBA, MCA, Architecture, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Applied Art and Craft. The central government has said that they will not ask for fees from the students until the normal situation comes to an end after the lockdown. During this time, they will not stop the salary of teachers. Rajeev Kumar, Member Secretary of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), working under the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, has written to all colleges in this regard. The organization has said that they will not ask students for fees until the lockdown is over and the situation is back to normal. A guideline will be issued again as to when to charge the fees.

The All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) has issued these instructions to all affiliated colleges. Notice has been issued in this regard. The notice states that 'till the lockdown is over in the country, and the situation is not normal again, no engineering technical college or institute affiliated to AICTE will pressurize their students or parents to pay fees. ' These instructions have been issued by issuing separate notices for institutions running PGDM courses. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared on Tuesday that the lockdown in India will have to be extended till 3 May 3. According to the consolidated revised guidelines issued on Wednesday by the Ministry of Home Affairs, educational and training institutions will remain shut, but these establishments are expected to maintain the academic schedule through online teaching.
