Coronavirus: Want to donate blood in lockdown? Then learn how to make e-pass

Due to school and college holidays in April and May, regular blood donors decrease. Naturally, there is a shortage of blood supply.

As responsible citizens of the country, we have our duties towards both, the medical officials and the patients. We should honour the battle that these professionals have fought until now by staying in and not leaving houses until necessary.

It is also appealed that all social and religious organizations should organize blood donation camps and cooperate with the noble cause of saving the lives of needy patients by collecting blood.

The lockdown has led to a shortage of blood in blood banks across the country. Therefore, even though many blood donors have come forward, they cannot donate blood due to conditions.

Due to the lockdown, even people who want to donate blood cannot donate blood. What is special is that there are many patients in many hospitals who need blood constantly.

If anyone wants to donate blood, the central government has stepped in for their convenience. The central government has provided information on how to make e-pass for blood donors.

First search for eraktkosh on your computer or smartphone and open the website https://www.eraktkosh.in/.

When you open the website, you will see Donate Now written at the bottom right. Similarly, the e-pass will be written in a red box. Click or tap on it.

A new page will open. In this page you have to fill in the important information like name / phone number etc. of the blood donor. Then click on Save at the bottom of the page. The e-pass will be generated as soon as you click save.

If you live in Lucknow, you can donate blood by going to the hospital in Lockdown. For this you will get e-pass on your mobile at home. The Uttar Pradesh government had issued a helpline number for those willing to donate blood.

You need to call or send a message to this helpline number. After this, the date of blood donation will be sent to WhatsApp.
