he Central Crime Branch (CCB) is conducting raids at Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi's house in connection to the ongoing Sandalwood drug racket case.

The raids began at 6.30 am today with six male cops and a female cop. Ragini was summoned by the CCB on September 3, but the actress had sent her advocates to appear before the officers.

In an Instagram post, she also wrote that she received the summon at a short notice, which is why she couldn't appear.

The CCB officers have taken Ragini Dwivedi to the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for interrogation.Ragini Dwivedi was present at her house in Bengaluru during. She had changed her mobile phone yesterday and hence the CCB approached the court for the search warrant. The court granted the warrant and the raids began on the morning of September 4.

On August 21, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had busted a drug racket in Karnataka and arrested several drug peddlers. In one of the accused's diary, nearly 15 names of celebrities from the Kannada film industry have been mentioned.A few days ago, Ragini's friend Ravi was arrested by the cops. After interrogating Ravi, the CCB officials received information regarding the Kannada actress's involvement in the drug case.

For the unversed, Ragini Dwivedi, was the runner-up of the 2008 Femina Miss India contest and won the Richfeel Femina Miss Beautiful Hair award at the 2009 Pantaloons Femina Miss India contest.

She made her entry to filmdom with Veera Madakari (2009) which won her the Suvarna Film Award for Best Debut Actress. She rose to fame starring in successful Kannada language films, Kempe Gowda (2011), Shiva (2012), Bangari (2013) and Ragini IPS (2014), thus establishing herself as one of the leading actresses in Kannada cinema.

She was recognised by fashion designer, Prasad Bidapa in 2008 and introduced her to modelling. As a model, she modelled for Lakme Fashion Week, Sri Lanka fashion week and for designers like Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.[6] She participated in the Femina Miss India contest held in Hyderabad in December 2008, where she was declared the first runner-up,thus receiving a direct entry to the 2009 Pantaloons Femina Miss India in Mumbai, where she was given the Richfeel Miss Beautiful Hair title.
