Coronavirus: Indian Railways announces 6 'Shramik Special' trains to ferry stranded migrant workers, and students

The lockdown, which was carried out to curb the spread of the coronavirus, has left many labourers and migrants stranded in various places. Meanwhile, the central government instructed the railways to run a special train to take such people to their villages.

Accordingly, the Railways has now started the Shramik Special Railway service. Meanwhile, the state government had earlier directed that the trains should not stop at point-to-point stations as per the standard protocol.

The consent of both the states from which the train will depart and where it will arrive is required to run this train. Ordinary passengers will not be allowed to travel in this train. The government has also laid down some conditions for starting these trains.

Passenger list will be prepared - The list of passengers who want to travel in this special train will be prepared by the state government. To travel by this train, traveling laborers, tourists, students, and travelers will have to apply to their state.

Screening will be done before boarding the train - Screening of passengers will be arranged at the station from the state from which the train will depart. All passengers will be allowed to board the train only after they have been screened and found to be fit.

This will be the catering arrangement - the state from which the train will start its journey will have catering for the passengers. Arrangements will be made at the station. Meals will also be provided by the train during the journey.

Face masks and social distancing will be mandatory for those traveling by special train.

Number of passengers - The train said the front is crowded. However, only 54 passengers will be allowed to travel in one coach in this special train. This decision has been taken to maintain social distance.

Meanwhile, the workers in Mumbai are overjoyed to learn that the government is running such trains. Meanwhile, several laborers have rushed to the police station and submitted their applications.
