Lockdown 4.0 has started across the country against the backdrop of Coronavirus. There will be a lockdown in the country till May 31. However, the central government has given a waiver to the states in this lockdown.

Lockdown has been going on in the country for the last 2 months. Now that Lockdown 4 has started, there is a question in the minds of people who have been sitting at home for so many days, whether bikes, buses, taxis and autos will start in their area?

First of all, as per the guidelines of the Central Government, the Center has now lifted the ban on the movement of all passenger trains (Red, Orange and Green) except the containment zone. However, there are rules for private vehicles. Now all zones can run Autos, Taxi, and Buses.

In Green, Orange, Red Zone, 1 plus 1 passenger will be transported for auto-taxi, 1 plus 2 for car and 1 plus 1 for two-wheeler (Green, Orange) and 1 in Red Zone. Transportation is not permitted in the containment zone.

Meanwhile, the Centre did not explicitly state its intention to travel from one state to another by its own vehicle. The instruction is for passenger vehicles only. That is, with private vehicles, we can only cross the state border when we have a special pass.

Buses and trains can be started in both the states with the consent of the state governments. This means that if you want to go from Delhi to UP and from UP to Delhi, you need the permission of both the state governments.

The lockdown has been extended to 14 days in the country. This is the fourth phase of the lockdown, which will run from May 18 to May 31. States can start buses if they feel like it. Also, inter-state bus services can be started with the consent of other states.

Passenger transport services include autos, taxis, rural services, e-rickshaws and 8 categories of vehicles. The state government will take a decision in this regard.

The government in its recommendations has allowed only 1 passenger transport in auto, e-rickshaw, cycle rickshaw while 2 passengers can be transported in taxis, cabs. Also no sharing option available.

The state governments will take decisions as per the guidelines of the central government. The decision on how to start transport services in the state is left to the states.

Domestic and international air travel will be closed (except for medical services, security and air ambulances). Labor trains, freight trains will continue. Railways has already canceled all tickets till June 30.
