Dubai, Aug 17 The first Co-ordination Commission meeting for the Bahrain 2021 Asian Youth Para games was held with members of the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) and the Games Organising Committee (BAYPGOC) discussing several aspects about the preparations for the games that are scheduled from December 1 to 10, 2021.Asian Paralympic Committee President Majid Rashed opened the meeting held via video teleconferencing while Ali Al Majed, Secretary General of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, led the proceedings on the local organisers' behalf.With the aim to kick off the preparation work on various aspects of the games, the meeting heard updates on the master schedule, accreditation, ticketing, games emblem and mascot, classification, opening and closing ceremonies, transportation, hospitality and broadcasting, among others.Highlighting the Kingdom of Bahrain's ambitious strategic plans to develop para-sport in the country, Rashed said, "Hosting the Asian Youth Para Games, 2021 in Bahrain is a vital part of helping us to achieve our mission to support NPCs to enable para-athletes achieve sporting excellence from the grassroots to elite level.""Bahrain has a bright future and are looking to achieve and deliver for their athletes as well as for us in the APC. Youth is the future of our sport and we are working hard to have a sustainable Championship and to create the right platform and atmosphere for young para-athletes to launch their careers."The APC was also updated on the two venue hubs, ISA Sports City Arena and Khalifa Sports City Stadium, which will host nine sports that will feature in the games.( With inputs from IANS )
