In a big news for T20 lovers across the globe the cash rich Indian Premier League is all likely to held in UAE in the last week of September. More importantly, the matches in all probablity will have a 7:30pm start instead of the regular 8pm slot. Yesterday, IPL governing council chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed that the logistics for the tournament are being worked upon subject to government approvals. The tentative dates so according to reports is 26 September to November 8.
The franchisees had already been working on their plans for the IPL even before the ICC announcement. In April, the BCCI had postponed the IPL indefinitely because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the BCCI had intended to host the IPL in India, the pandemic's spread has over the last few months has made that unfeasible. The formal announcement on the date, schedule, and timings will be made soon by the BCCI.
