Aurangabad, Oct 14:The Congress leader and contact minister of Aurangabad district, Amit Deshmukh, has not maintained contact with the party leaders and workers from the district as expected since his inception. However, to maintain it, he suggested the Aurangabad District Congress Committee office-bearers come and meet him once in a week either at Mumbai or Latur. The valuable guidance was given during the meeting held last night. He also mentioned that he would be visiting once in a month to Aurangabad.The state''s medical education minister Amit Deshmukh, is also the contact minister of the district, arrived in the city on Tuesday evening. He held a discussion on various issues with the party''s office-bearers in a hotel, situated on Jalna Road last night. The minister and office-bearers also discussed the possible election of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation in the meeting. He also heard the issues and views of the office-bearers present on occasion.Deshmukh suggested the party office-bearer''s gear up to excel in the municipal corporation elections. The office-bearers suggested him to take an interest in AMC elections as the late Vilasrao Deshmukh had succeeded in electing Congress mayor in AMC. They also advised him to start the process of naming Government Cancer Hospital after late Vilasrao Deshmukh. The contact minister expressed that the District Congress president Kalyan Kale should take an interest in AMC elections. it is learnt.Deshmukh is on three-days tour to Aurangabad district and halted last night after a discussion with party office-bearers. He was in Jalna to attend a programme today. He attended the cabinet meeting through video-conferencing at the district collectorate in Jalna. After finishing his day''s work, he returned to Aurangabad today. He will be attending a Shetkari Kranti Sammelan organised at Ladgaon tomorrow (on Oct 15) at 3 pm.The meeting held on Tuesday night was attended by office-bearers of Congress'' Frontal Organisations, former city president, district general secretary Kiran Patil Dongaonkar, state office-bearer Prakash Mugadiya, Ravindra Kale, Jitendra Dehale, city unit president (women''s wing) Saroj Patil, city unit president Hisham Osmani and other office-bearers.
