Research has shown that the Delta variant is spreading faster and is affecting even those who have been vaccinated. This is according to a study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in Chennai.

As soon as the Delta variant is infected, the antibodies of those who take Covishield and Covaxin are reduced, according to ICMR research.

The Delta variant is spread across more than 130 countries, said Dr. Priya Abraham, Director, ICMR-National Institute of Virology (NIV).

We studied antibodies produced in vaccinated individuals at the National Institute of Virology. Research has been done on how effective they are against the Delta variant, Abraham said.

The effect of antibodies against the Delta variant is reduced by two to three times, according to the research.
